Məqalədə "siyasi islam" termininin meydanaçıxma tarixi, işlədilməsində maraqlı olan tərəflər, nəzərdən keçirildiyi məzmun, Müsəlman dünyasında ona münasibət kimi məsələlər öyrənilir. Təqdimat xarakterli bu mövzulardan sonra müəllif məlum terminin komparativist təhlilə əsaslanan tənqidini verir. O göstərir ki, islam dininin həqiqi məzmununu təhrif xarakterli redaktəyə məruz qoyduğuna, müsəlman fərdi etiqad və inancına görə sosial-siyasi həyatdan təcrid etdiyinə, Quran və Peyğəmbər təcrübəsi ilə, çoxəsrlik müsəlman tarixi ilə üst-üstə düşməyən yeni din modeli yaratdığına, elmi-akademik yanaşmadan uzaq olub dünyəvilik konsepsiyasının maraqlarına xidmət etdiyinə görə Qərb ideoloji-siyasi islamşünaslığının məhsulu sayılan “siyasi islam” termini qərəzlidir.
The article considers such problems as the history of appearance of the term "political Islam", its content, attitude toward it in the Muslim world. After reviewing the indicated aspects, the author presents criticism of this term based on a comparative analysis. The author points out that the term "political Islam", which is the product of Western political and ideological Islamic studies, can be considered prejudiced due to the fact that he distorts the true content of the Islamic religion, isolates the Muslim as an individual from social and political life for his personal convictions and faith, creates a new model of religion that does not link with the Qur'an and the practice of the prophet and with the centuries-old history of Islam, serves the interests of the concept of secularism while stepping away from the scientific and academic approach.
